Spooner Industries has joined The Federation of Bakers as a new associate member.

The company was established in 1932 by William Wycliffe Spooner, and provides industrial processing equipment to the food and baking industry, as well as working in coil coating/galvanising.

Gordon Polson, director of the Federation of Bakers, said: “We are delighted to welcome Spooner Industries, as the newest associate member of the Federation of Bakers. Membership numbers continue to build and we become a bigger collective who can speak for a large proportion of the plant bakery industry and make sure that their voice is heard.”

The Federation of Bakers comprises nine member companies running 47 bakeries in the UK, which supply over 80% of the nation’s bread. It also counts among its members current associates AB Mauri, ADM Milling, Baker Perkins, British Bakels, CCFRA, Cereform, Edme, Fuerst Day Lawson, GB Ingredients, Lesaffre Group, Puratos and Zeelandia.
