Charlotte Shaw, founder of Halifax-based bakery Lottie Shaw’s, will appear in Paul Hollywood’s new television show.
Airing in November, the new baking series, Paul Hollywood’s Pies And Puds, will see Hollywood, known as a judge on the BBC’s The Great British Bake Off, cook three recipes.
He will produce a signature pie and pudding, as well as something inspired by a guest expert. Paul and his guest expert will then cook the dish together.
The series will also see Paul scour the UK for traditional local recipes, looking at the stories and heritage behind them. Those he meets will join Hollywood in the kitchen, watch him and bake their recipe.
In one particular episode, the GBBO judge will produce a Yorkshire Parkin, while he and Shaw discuss the region and its heritage.
Speaking about filming with Hollywood, Shaw said: “He’s very nice and it was a really good day. I think I was a little overwhelmed, but I’m looking forward to seeing the edited show next month.”
Lottie Shaw’s bakery recently achieved the titles of Best Bakery and Supreme Product for its Seriously Good Yorkshire Parkin at the Deliciouslyorkshire Awards 2013, which are organised by regional food group Deliciouslyorkshire.
According to Shaw, the bakery plans to bring out a parkin flapjack for the Tour de France next year, which will pass through Yorkshire.
The new series will air on BBC1 in November.
