East Lancashire bakery Clayton Park has launched a new range of family meat pies, extending its partnership with Booths.

Launching in February, these include steak, steak & ale, chicken, ham & leek, and chicken & gravy plate pies.

Formed in 1995, the bakery has also added new steak & ale and chicken, ham & leek pies to its individual range for the supermarket, which now includes nine different varieties.

In a statement, Gemma Addison, frozen and chilled buyer at Booths, said the business was “exceptionally proud” of the close and long-established relationships it had built with local suppliers.

“All the pies have gone through a rigorous round of benchmark tasting panels to ensure we produce the tastiest and most flavoursome recipes. We look forward to launching this new and exciting range of family pies into stores in February,” said Addison.

Barry Thomas, bakery managing director, said: “We are always looking to offer greater variety and new flavours to our range of products. Our pies are always very popular, and we believe this delicious new range will go down very well with those who know a good pie when they taste one.

“Booths and their shoppers are highly valued customers and we are delighted to be able to offer them something new and exciting.”

The news follows Clayton Park Bakery’s recent development with a second purpose-built bakery in Huncoat, Lancashire to expand its range.

It produces a variety of pies, savouries, morning goods and cakes, and supplies supermarkets, smaller shops and filling stations.

The bakery also announced that it had started marketing a smaller version of its potato and meat pie, with a particular emphasis on fish and chip shop sales.
