Free-from food brand Feel Free For Gluten Free has acquired its own manufacturing site in Worthing, West Sussex, in a move that will increase production by around 20%.
The new 3,500 square foot facility will be dedicated to gluten-free foods, and will boost sales of its Indulgence, Freedom and sweet bakery ranges.
Sally Allister, managing director of Feel Free For Gluten Free, said: “Given that we can be more flexible in the products we produce - and also the products we haven’t previously been able to produce - we estimate that production will initially increase by around 20%.
“And given that we have the flexibility and sustainability in our supply chain now, we would like to drive sales by a minimum of 25-30% for the products that we will produce at this new site.
“When the opportunity came up for us to buy the site in Worthing, we immediately knew it was the right thing for us to do. Having our own manufacturing facility gives us much better control over our supply chain.”
Feel Free For Gluten Free is an exhibitor at this year’s International Food & Drink event (IFE) in London’s ExCeL exhibition centre between 22 and 25 March.
