SSP Group has agreed to acquire 32 German bakery outlets from confectioner Wiener Feinbäckerei Heberer, for a cash consideration of ‘approximately’ £5m.

The global food operator in travel locations said that 30 of the outlets would be located in railway stations and two of them in airports.

The company said that the value of the gross assets being acquired was approximately £5m, and the profit attributable to the assets in 2014 was approximately £1m.

SSP said in a statement: “The acquisition of these outlets will further strengthen SSP’s presence in travel locations in Germany.”

The company operates restaurants, bars, cafés, food courts, lounges and convenience stores in airports, train stations, motorway service stations and other leisure locations.

Its portfolio includes Upper Crust, Starbucks, Caffè Ritazza, M&S Simply Food and Millie’s Cookies.
