FDF director Ian Wright told British Baker: “We received a huge number of entries from across the industry and were particularly impressed by the high level of interest shown by the baking sector. The entrants represented a wide range of the most innovative names in baking, from high-profile, established brands to fast-emerging artisan bakers.

He added: “It is a great reminder to us all of the talented and dedicated colleagues we have in Britain’s baking sector. We look forward to welcoming our finalists, guests and supporters from the baking sector to an evening that we are sure will be a wonderful showcase for the industry’s strength, expertise and endless creativity.”

The guest host of the evening will be British broadcaster Hardeep Singh Kohli and the winners will be announced on the evening.

Almost 100 companies entered the Food and Drink Federation Awards for this year.

In July, the FDF outlined the industry’s key priorities in the Brexit negotiations in an open letter to incoming Prime Minister Theresa May.
