Food to go and casual dining businesses are being encouraged to use seasonal-themed packaging to mark special occasions such as Valentine’s Day.

Food packaging manufacturer It’s a Wrap says it recommends that its customers incorporate seasonal trends into their greaseproof paper for serving and wrapping food.

“Whatever it is you are wrapping or serving, make your product stand out from the crowd,” added It’s a Wrap sales co-ordinator Sam Cullinane.

Atlas Packaging, which works with clients including food and confectionery suppliers, said Valentine’s was an important occasion for the business.

“Valentine’s Day is a big event for Atlas Packaging, with planning taking place months in advance,” they said.

According to research carried out by Mars Inc, 33% of consumers choose baked gifts during the Valentine’s season.

Both businesses will be exhibiting at the Pro2Pac event, held at the ExCeL exhibition centre in London from 20 to 22 March this year.
