Wrights Food Group has agreed to sponsor the grandstand at Uttoxeter racecourse as part of a three-year deal.

Under the terms of the sponsorship, Wrights will supply pies and sausage rolls from a new pie shop located within the paddock.

Peter Wright, chairman and chief executive at Wrights Food Group, said the company was delighted to announce this agreement between “two iconic and respected brands”.

“To strike a deal with the home of the Midlands Grand National – and a sporting venue which prides itself on the way it deals with its customers – is something that was very important to us.”

Britain’s strongest man Eddie Hall, who is sponsored by Wrights and was brought up near Wrights Food Group’s headquarters in Crewe, was on hand to give the deal the seal of approval.

“It is an appetising prospect for racegoers – enjoying some quality racing while at the same time being able to enjoy quality pies and sausage rolls,” he said.

Wrights Food Group employs around 450 people.
