Dunstable-based Signature Flatbreads has launched a new Deli Kitchen range, which it claims creates “new lunchtime sales opportunities” for retailers.

The new Deli Kitchen range is “a range of first-to-market, healthy, versatile and convenient sandwich carriers, launched in response to consumer demand for alternatives to traditional sliced bread”, according to the company.

Backed by a “significant” online marketing campaign focused on high-profile bloggers, the new additions to the Deli Kitchen sandwich range include low-calorie, high-fibre and high-protein options.

The new Deli Kitchen range

•          Skinni Wrap (Plain) – “The Skinni Wrap is low in calorific content, and comes in a unique and easy-to-fold shape”;

•          Skinni Wrap (Multigrain) – “The six cereal blend wrap is a high source of fibre, with a unique shape that makes it easy to fold”;

•          High Protein Wrap – “A protein-rich wrap that meets the trend for high protein options”;

•          Tacotilla – “The soft and flexible Tacotilla (a cross between a taco and tortilla wrap) comes ready to use, making it a great multi-use product for any day of the week”.

Charles Eid, joint managing director for Signature Flatbreads, said: “The market for sandwich carrier alternatives is buoyant, and the new Deli Kitchen variants are leading the way, offering consumers exciting and versatile substitutes to traditional sliced bread, whether they are buying for themselves or for a family.

“Offering genuine on-shelf stand-out, combined with a high quality product, we expect the new Deli Kitchen range to reinvent mealtimes for consumers, driving significant growth in the alternative sandwich carrier category.”

The new products are in addition to the current Deli Kitchen range, which includes plain and seeded folded flatbreads, and plain and harissa folded flatbuns.

The new Deli Kitchen range will be available in-store this month. The recommended selling price for each product in the range is £1.25.
