Food ingredients supplier EHL Ingredients has acquired a new manufacturing site at the Broadstone Industrial Estate, Stockport.

The acquisition will give the business an additional 8,000 sq ft of space, which will increase manufacturing capacity by up to 50% and create several new job opportunities for the local area.

This will be the third unit the company has acquired on the Broadstone estate, and the supplier said the move would enable it to make improvements to its packaging, shorten lead times, and increase its stockholding capacity, as well as being able to supply products ‘off the shelf’.

Tasneem Backhouse and Naseem Haq, joint managing directors at EHL Ingredients, said the company was excited about the new building and what the future holds for EHL.

“Not only will it enable us to increase our manufacturing capacity, which will give us a boost in sales, but will also ensure we can provide our current customers with a better service and keep pace with customer demands,” said EHL.

“We’re also looking forward to expanding the EHL team, and will be running a recruitment drive in the coming months.”
