Bagged savoury biscuit range Jacob’s Oddities has been axed by Pladis following a six-year spell.

Pladis revealed the reason for the dismissal of the biscuit product was to focus on its efforts on the rest of the Jacob’s growing portfolio.

“We regularly review and make updates to our range in response to consumer demand and the latest market trends,” a Pladis spokesperson said. “Whilst Jacob’s Oddities has a small, dedicated fan-base we have taken the difficult decision to discontinue the product.”

Plans are under way for the biscuit giant to include an “exciting new product development” for Jacob’s, which will be launched this autumn.

Jacob’s Crackers recently launched three new flavours to its Mini Cheddars range, while the brand has also unveiled a new TV advert for its Jacob’s Cracker Crisps to promote its two limited-edition variants.
