The Artisan Bakery rolls out new trio of vegan muffins

London-based business The Artisan Bakery has rolled out vegan muffins following the strong performance of a vegan pastry range it launched a year ago.

The West London company said its previous plant-based launch – which included croissants, pains au chocolat and pains au raisin - was an immediate success and now accounts for 20% of sales. It added the products are now stocked in vegan and non-vegan venues across London.

Bakers and pastry chefs at the business have spent three months developing the new muffin range, which comprises the business’ three most popular muffin varieties: apple crumble, blueberry and chocolate.

The vegan versions are made with vanilla and soya protein in place of dairy, which parallels the light consistency and delicate flavour of the dairy versions, according to the bakery.

They are already available in Artisan Coffee, Leyas, Lantern Coffee House and are rolling out to more stockists now.

“Extending our plant-based range wherever we can to serve the increasing number of flexitarian cafés in and around London just makes sense,” said The Artisan Bakery CEO Andrew Murray.

“Our bakers have made certain every product we've added to the new range is just as tasty as their dairy-based counterparts, so we’re excited to be able to offer these new muffins to our customers.”

In January, the business announced it was partnering with delivery service Milk & More, so customers in West London could have freshly baked artisan products delivered alongside their milk before 7am.
