A look inside Prada Group’s UK Pasticceria Marchesi

Pasticceria Marchesi has opened its first location outside of Milan on Mount Street, London. British Baker takes a look inside.

The location spans approximately 750 sq ft and was previously a butcher’s shop. The décor pays homage to this, incorporating the old tiling on the walls, wrought iron hooks on the ceiling and some of the existing signage printed on the glass.

The space also draws on the charm of Marchesi’s original shop in Milan, with wooden features and displays of confectionery.

The London venue comprises two rooms, a main room with some seating and the patisserie counter, and a rear dining room that has shelves adorned with confectionery and chocolates in pastel-coloured boxes.

Pasticceria Marchesi offers an all-day menu, with sweet and savoury baked goods, including its signature Mignon Pastries and Veneziana (a brioche filled with vanilla custard and topped with almond paste), as well as panettone, which is served year-round. It also offers a lunch menu with dishes such as risotto and omelette.

From 5:30pm, the site serves cocktails such as Negroni alongside aperitifs including almonds, olives, biscuits and small tartlettes.

It will be open from 8am-7pm Monday-Friday and 9am-5pm on Saturday.
