Nairn’s extends range with with gluten-free Oaties

Nairn’s has expanded its portfolio with Gluten Free Oaties, which it describes as a ‘healthier’ everyday biscuit.

According to the brand, Oaties have 45% less sugar than the average sweet gluten-free biscuit, at 1.5g per biscuit and 15.2g per 100g. Featuring wholegrain oats, Nairn’s described Oaties as a “crumbly syrupy biscuit”, high in fibre and containing 48 calories per biscuit.

They are available in Waitrose, Morrisons and independent health food stores, with an rsp of £1.29 for a 160g pack.

“The new Oaties are a fantastic addition to our ever-expanding gluten-free range.  Demand for simple free-from products has never been higher and, with sugar under the spotlight in recent years, we’re proud to have a gluten-free range that showcases the health credentials of oats, champions lower sugar content and, importantly, doesn’t compromise on taste,” said Emma Heath, head of marketing at Nairn’s.

The brand has been busy on the NPD front in recent years, with a particular focus on healthier snacking. Earlier this year it unveiled its lowest-sugar biscuit in the form of Coconut & Chia Oat Biscuits, as well as expanding its savoury range with Ancient Grains Oatcakes.
