Asda to launch Christmas dinner pizza complete with Brussels sprouts

Asda has unveiled a Christmas dinner pizza, complete with Brussels sprouts.

However, the retailer’s festive pizza forgoes the traditional turkey and is instead topped with chicken, roast potatoes, Brussels sprouts and is drizzled with cranberry sauce.

It's available from 7 December and costs £2.60 for a 10-inch and £4.00 for a 14-inch pizza.

Reaction so far has been mixed, with some on Twitter eager to try the Christmas creation, while others shun it because of the veg or the use of chicken instead of turkey.

One Twitter user pointed out that Asda’s wasn’t the only Christmas pizza on the market. Pizza specialist Fire & Stone is offering one complete with all the trimmings.

Coming in at £12.95, it’s topped with roast turkey, a sausage, apricot & herb stuffing, brie, crispy bacon, rosemary roast potatoes, Brussels sprouts, gravy and sweet cranberry.

Pizza is increasingly used as a carrier of non-traditional toppings, such as a full English, designed to tap into the brunch and breakfast markets. British Baker magazine subscribers can read our pizza feature to find out more.
